Ernst Stavro Blofeld Donald Pleasance, Telly Savalas, Charles Gray The ultimate Bond villain, Bloefeld was the head SPECTRE (Special Executive For Counter Espionage, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion). Blofeld is best known as the hands holding a white persian cat although he was given a face (Donald Pleasence, Telly Savalas). Despite Blofeld's apparent invincibility and perfect schemes, James Bond always finds a way to defeat Blofeld and his SPECTRE underlings. |

Red Grant Robert Shaw Red Grant is a convicted killer trained by SPECTRE to kill James Bond in retaliation for his murder of Dr. No. Pretending to be a fellow British agent, Grant nearly kills 007 but is foiled by Bond and his gadget-filled attache case. |

Rosa Klebb Lotte Lenya The former head of SMERSH, the Russian Secret Service, Rosa Klebb defected to join SPECTRE. Her mission was to lure Bond into a trap, using a Lektor decoder (not to mention the beautiful Tatiyana Romanova) as bait. Klebb was a sinister adversary who personally took on the responsibility of killing Bond although the poison spiked shoe does not seem to have been the best method of attack. |

Goldfinger Gert Frobe One of the most well known of Bond's adversaries, Auric Goldfinger aspired to become the greatest criminal of all time by knocking of Fort Knox. Unfortunately his plan was foiled by Pussy Galore who for no good reason decided to betray her employer and warn the CIA of the plot. |

Mr. Kidd and Mr. Wint Putter Smith and Bruce Glover Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, the dastardly duo from Diamonds Are Forever, took such pleasure in their work that it is hard not think of them with joy. Employed in SPECTRE’s diamond smuggling effort, Mr. Kidd and Mr. Wint have the added bonus of trying to dispatch Mr. Bond in a number of imaginative ways. |

Jaws Richard Kiel Jaws is not Bond’s most clever adversary but he is probably the strongest. With his metal mouth and seven foot body, Jaws proved virtually unstoppable. Although bond though he had taken care of the giant Jaws on numerous occassions, he just always seemed to come back for more. Jaws was so popular in The Spy Who Loved Me that he returned to reprise the role in Moonraker. |

Alec Trevelyan Sean Bean Alex Trevelyan, MI6 agent 006 and Bond’s dearest friend was feared dead in an explosion during one of his missions with Bond. Alex actually was not dead but rather had defected from the service to become one of the most powerful criminals in Russia. As the son of Cossacks, Alex feels betrayed by the British government and seeks revenge by destroying London with the Goldeneye satellites Electro Magnetic Pulse weapon (but not before he steals a ton of money from the Bank of England). Good plan. |

Elliot Carver Jonathan Pryce Elliot Carver is an international media baron, the head of the largest media company in the world. Hoping to get a good story by precipitating a war between England and China, (and also get broadcasting rights in China for the next century) Carver engineers a conflict between the Chinese and the British governments. Honestly, this was not such a great plan. There are much better ways for a man in Carver’s position to make a quick buck than by starting a war and arranging the news coverage of that war. Maybe supplying weapons, or conquering the world should have been his goal. |

Viktor "Renard" Zokas Robert Carlyle Viktor Zokas, also known as Renard, lives with a bullet lodged in his brain which makes him incapable of feeling pain. His plan is to control the world’s supply of oil by destroying Istanbul, the focal point of oil transportation, with an atomic bomb. Teaming up with millionaire heiress Elektra King (who incidentally got her wealth by killing her father), will be happy to supply the world with the oil under her control, coming from Azerbaijan. |
